Because I'm a feminist killjoy, I always have to butt in and remind folks that Lady Gaga's meat dress and her earlier meat bikini were done before and better by multiple punk women and riot grrrls.

Completing the journey from one gender to the other seemed like an endless progression of items that had to be paid for, won or seized, like an endless Fortnite. I imagined that bottom surgery would mark the beginning of the end, but other options kept rearing their head like when ordering a bespoke Rolls Royce.

Very recent events have given me an understanding that the end of transitioning is a reality, and not far away. In the order they occurred: using service station ladies toilets as my first ever experience of ladies toilets, being open with my brother, getting to use the ladies changing rooms at primark ( it actually says ‘women only’ and winning lesbian bingo at a sapphic social by having 21 out of 28 stereotypical lesbian attributes. All in two days, 36 hours in which my womanhood has been affirmed without question or comment. If, if, this means that I am accepted where I live my life then, apart from personal aesthetic choices , I have transitioned, I have completed my journey and no more work is required, everything else is optional; I have reached my destination.
